Stupid Divas
Mar. 3rd, 2005 11:46 pm The main leads in Pirates are so good! And the semi-leads are so bitchy!
Why does it have to be this way? Why can't we all get along without
constantly gossiping about how mean the director is and how hot the
musical director is (although he is a hotty, it must be admitted)? And
if it's Gilbert and Sullivan, shouldn't people at least respect the
artists' English enough to say "We lay and sobbed upon the rocks," not
"we laid and sobbed upon the rocks"? That usage might be pretty much
accepted now, but it was wrong then!
That said, opening should be fun. Mabel and Frederick and the Pirate King and Samuel and the Major General and the pirates are all amazing, so even if the Divas ruin everything else, the scenes where I'm not on stage should work nicely. I've begged Adam to let me be a pirate, but he's not budging. Grrr. They get swords! The most I get is a nightgown. I guess I need to go back to fencing if I want to touch pointy things again.
