Seeing a job that I applied for a long time ago being re-posted on the same site where I saw in the first time. What do I do about that? I mean, I was rejected the first time, evidently, so clearly they didn't want me and there's no point in applying again. But maybe they've re-posted because they realize their standards the first time were ridiculous. But if that's the case, why not go back to the old pool of applicants? Maybe they're just fishing. Maybe I'll send them an email mentioning that I'm still interested. What are they going to do? Reject me? They've already done that!

In happier news, I saw a cool posting for a contract linguist on craigslist. Cover letters for ositions for which I'm genuinely qualified always write themselves so much more easily than cover letters for positions for which I must be creative in showing how I'm qualified.

It never hurts to try again! Maybe they just didn't get around to your resume the first time you sent it in. It doesn't necessarily mean that they didn't think you were right for the job!
